Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Blue Collar News collects, uses, and protects your personal information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
We collect:
- Email addresses when you subscribe to a newsletter or send a tip.
- Contact details you provide in messages or tip submissions.
- Technical information about your visit — page URL, referrer, device type, approximate location (country/region from IP), and the time of the request. This is processed by Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
How we use it
- Newsletters — to send the newsletter you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every newsletter or by emailing hello@bluecollarnews.com.au.
- Tips and contact — to respond to you and, where you’ve consented, follow up for further reporting.
- Analytics — to understand which stories readers find useful. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-friendly and does not build advertising profiles.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers necessary to operate the site:
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, analytics, bot protection, email forwarding. Privacy.
- Resend — transactional email (newsletter confirmations, contact responses). Privacy.
- Buttondown — newsletter delivery. Privacy.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter subscriber data is held until you unsubscribe.
- Tip submissions are held for as long as is necessary to follow up.
- Analytics data is aggregated and retained per Cloudflare’s defaults.
